The first half of our show sees 3 cult cabaret acts performing half of their new show each. We open with Kane & Abel combining their 2 shows: Breaking The Magician’s Code and The Card Players. These anarchic twin tricksters return to break more rules of the Magicians’ Code of Conduct, and impress with intimate close-up effects. ‘Highly recommend. Kane & Abel are funny, charismatic and likeable’ (EdFringeReview.com).
Next up is Alice Marshall: Blood, the winner of the 2017 Brighton Fringe Comedy Award and one of The Guardian’s ones-to-watch this year. This critically acclaimed comedy actress presents a whole host of characters that are weird, wonderful and downright vicious in equal measure. Comedy just got nasty – and there will be blood… ‘She’s the one you’ll be glad you saw before she got big. See this show’ ***** (ShortCom.co.uk). ‘Erotic and extremely funny at the same time – a natural’ (Spectator).
The first half ends with John-Luke Roberts: Look on My Works, Ye Mighty, and Despair! The cult-favourite alternative comic humbly invites you to his brand-new, absolutely brilliant extraordinary-absurdist-character-comedy-nonsense-sort-of-stand-up and hubris. ‘A show as bafflingly stupid as this should rightly divide an audience down the middle, but through some strange alchemy the crowd absolutely lap it up… a consistently hilarious hour of measured madness’ **** (List).
The second half of the show is the audience’s chance to star (or see your peers star), it’s comedy hypnotist Ben Dali with Take A Trance On Me. The UK’s best hypnotist of the 21st Century brings you a brand new hypnotic experience. Take A Trance On Me invites audience volunteers to be hypnotised live on stage before re-enacting a range of hilarious hypnotic sketches inspired by London. From street performance in Covent Garden to customs at Gatwick Airport, visits to the haunted London Dungeons and our very own unforgettable London’s Got Talent, Take A Trance On Me is a game-changing show where the audience is the star.
