This evening will feature a first set by a top class house band of internationally-acclaimed musicians, led by American singer Gabrielle Stravelli and bassist Pat O\u2019Leary. The performance will be followed by an opportunity for other luminaries of the London jazz scene to play together as the night turns into a swinging jam session.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.batterseajazzfestival.co.uk\/event\/the-battersea-jazz-jam-session-featuring-gabrielle-stravelli\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tickets are \u00a312<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(includes a Camden Hells, Pale, or Corona among other drinks) or<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.batterseajazzfestival.co.uk\/product\/the-battersea-jazz-jam-session-featuring-gabrielle-stravelli\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> \u00a38 without a drink included<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>American singer\u00a0<strong>Gabrielle Stravelli<\/strong>, one of the world&#8217;s foremost interpreters of the American Songbook, combines a\u00a0tremendous swing feel with a gift for\u00a0lyric interpretation, leading to a\u00a0career defined by highly individual\u00a0choices and a genuine connection\u00a0with audiences. Known for her swinging rhythmic feel, elegant and intelligent interpretation of ballads, and dazzling stage presence, she sings regularly at major jazz venues and festivals globally, has collaborated with artists including Fred Hersch and Wynton Marsalis, and has frequently taken up residencies at legendary jazz-clubs like Birdland with the USA&#8217;s top-tier musicians and improvisers.<\/p>\n<p>American bassist\u00a0<strong>Patrick O\u2019Leary<\/strong>\u00a0has toured all over the world with a veritable Who\u2019s Who of jazz greats including Lionel Hampton, Illinois Jacquet, Diana Krall, Hal Galper, Bob Dorough and Teri Thornton. During his tenure as the bassist for the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, Pat recorded the Grammy-\u00adnominated CD \u201cSentimental Journey\u201d for Atlantic Records.
